What does real greatness look like?
In this episode of ARK – Apostolic Radio for Kids, kids learn that greatness in God’s Kingdom often shows up in the messy, uncomfortable moments—not on a stage, not in a crown, and not in first place.
Through a hilarious cowboy tale with Rubber Bandit and Boots, listeners discover that heroes aren’t defined by comfort or applause, but by helping when it’s inconvenient. From there, the episode takes a sharp turn into Scripture with a bold look at Diotrephes (3 John 1:9–10), a man who loved being first so much that he pushed everyone else out.
Finally, Miss Sunshine brings it home with a kid-friendly conversation about Jesus and the disciples—reminding us that the King of Kings chose a towel instead of a throne.
This episode teaches kids that:
Greatness isn’t avoiding dirty jobs—it’s stepping into them
Wanting to be first can leave you last and alone
Pride pushes people away, but service brings people together
Jesus showed us that real leaders kneel before they stand
Key Scripture Connections
John 13:3–15 – Jesus washes the disciples’ feet
3 John 1:9–10 – Diotrephes and the danger of pride
Mark 9:35 – “If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all”
In God’s Kingdom, greatness isn’t about being the boss—it’s about being a helper.
Look for one dirty, unnoticed, or uncomfortable way to help someone this week—and do it with a happy heart.
