The east coast is ablaze with hip hop talent right now and it is hard to tell which flame is burning brighter. One such flame however, is slick, Durban-based hip hop outfit who dropped their debut project earlier this year. The four-man outfit of 20-somethings spit bars under the moniker CHILDISH PLAY and consist of Trevor LC, Koby Shaun, James and Jerome who first met in primary school and formed a Gqom dance group. Now, the boys battle in brassy beats and have dropped their debut album titled Something Like A Dream (SLAD). The six-track album is a 21st-century afro-trap ‘wish-upon-a-star’ outlining the hopes and dreams of CHILDISH PLAY as a collective and their grind to achieve them.
