Reneilwe, like most women in South Africa, wakes up not knowing if the sun on her face is shining for the last time or not. The majority of women living in this country don’t feel safe outside their gates. This one, feels safe outside the gates but chooses to remain inside because of the choice she made when she said, “I do”. Written and directed by Mthokozisi Zulu with support from the National Arts Council of South Africa and the Department of Sports, Arts & Culture, FED, starring Mpume Ngwenya and Kwandi Mathonsi, tells the unfortunate story of many of our sisters, mothers, daughters and friends.
