Description

The poems contained in the ‘Lockdown Poems’ e-book by Frank Meintjies were mostly written during the initial 21 days of South Africa’s hard lockdown which began 26 March. The poems were drafted daily. The poems deal with the feelings, moods and thoughts that were swilling about in this period as Covid-19 took its toll in our communities and our lives. Readers will be able to relate — and perhaps something of the fear, uncertainty, resilience, moments of paralysis and instances of hope come through in the text. During Saturday’s Role on Hellenic Radio, radio host, Renos Nicos Spanoudes chats to writer and activist Frank Meintjies about his book. Listen to the podcast and find out more!
