Description

Winnie Greer is an educationalist who is a” Chemistry teacher by day and Jazz diva by night!” She has had a wealth of experience in performing her favourite jazz standards, Ella Fitzgerald being one of her main jazz diva idols.

Her experience has ranged from being a runner up in the International Jazz singing competition in 2007 to perform in a range of well-known jazz venues e.g. The Vortex ( Dalston), The Pheasantry ( Chelsea) and The Bull’s Head ( Barnes). She has developed her knowledge and love of jazz standards and this can be seen especially when she presents them in different ways with a lot of feeling and emotion.

Having benefited from the generosity and knowledge of many great Jazz tutors through the years e.g. Peter Churchill, Tina May, Anita Wardell and Lee Gibson to mention a few, she now also enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience by teaching individual and group sessions to aspiring vocalists.

As well as performing gigs with trios and Big bands, she enjoys working with those individuals who are absolute beginners and need that boost to get their singing started as well as those clients who wish to develop their performance technique. Check her out at winniegreer.co.uk
