Description

It seems that Paul and Barnabas are in trouble quite a bit, and in this chapter. We find how crazy that trouble can sometimes be. In one moment people can be worshiping you as a God, and in the very next moment, they can be stoning you to kill you. How fickle are crowds? The example of the futility of people pleasing is very evident in this chapter. Paul, of course, is not a people pleaser. He tells them not to worship him along with Barnabas, but that that’s a dumb idiotic thing to do. He also isn’t very fond of them, stoning him, but he also gets up from being stoned, not being stoned in the sense of drugs about being stoned in the sense of having rock thrown at his head. Then they go back to Antioch, the Antioch, in Syria, where it was the second largest city in the Roman world.
