Description

In August 1991, a fisherman discovered the remains of an unidentified woman buried face-down in a Charleston County marsh near James Island County Park. Standing only 4’10” and possessing a rare medical anomaly — an extra set of ribs and six lower back bones — her identity has remained a mystery for over three decades. Known only as Charleston County Jane Doe, her story is a haunting reminder that time may fade the evidence, but it cannot erase the truth. Forensic experts continue to test DNA, compare dental records, and seek the public’s help to finally give her a name — and justice.
