Welcome to another episode of On the Road Down Under, the podcast that takes you across Australia’s most fascinating destinations — from iconic coastal towns to outback wonders — sharing history, local stories, and tips for the perfect family adventure.
In this episode, we travel to K’gari (Fraser Island) — a UNESCO World Heritage-listed paradise where rainforest grows from sand, whales rest in calm bays, and four-wheel drives cruise golden beaches that double as highways.
K’gari, meaning Paradise in the Butchulla language, is home to stories that stretch back thousands of years. The Butchulla people are the Traditional Custodians of this land, and their three laws — including “What’s good for the land comes first” — guide how visitors experience and respect this incredible island.
