Description

Andrew ( @t1d_onelife ) is a Type 1 with experience. He has been T1D for over 35 years, and has been on both sides of the spectrum with his dietary approaches. He did keto, ate a classic western diet and has now become a high-carb low-fat vegan. Andrew is a numbers-based person, which enables him to give us a deep insight into the changes in insulin sensitivity and carb:insulin ratios from the different ways of eating he has experienced. He has such a clear and rational understanding of the challenges of the dietary patterns that he has followed. It is a real pleasure to hear a clear-minded opinion, and not someone promoting this or that diet to control T1D.  

What Type 1s Eat is a podcast where there are no food rules, no right or wrong diets to control T1D, and no judgements about what you find works for your diabetes. This podcast aims to help you gain perspectives about how different Type 1's eat to help them manage their blood sugars, but also how they manage blood sugars with what they eat.
