God’s nature is to invite us to partner with Him in all things. We pray for our leaders, friends, and even those we don't like as an act of humility and love in order to bring God’s kingdom here on earth. We pray for and with the heart of God for all people.
We recognize that we are in a battle. People are not our enemy but Satan and dark forces are– and our weapon is prayer. We are told to pray continuously in all kinds of ways for all things. Don’t be lulled to sleep by the comforts and distractions of this world but see it for what it really is… a war zone. Intercession is not always easy, it requires perseverance. We can expect some discomfort or resistance.
By letting other believers know what our needs are, we can be more strategic in our prayer, targeting the enemy where he is.
When we add prayer to our daily lives, we begin to see life added to our daily prayers.
This is how we fight each other’s battles.
1 Timothy 2:1-6 NIV - 1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
Ephesians 6:11-12; 18-19 NLT - 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.
