Oftentimes trying slow means getting alone, getting away from people, devices, etc and just resting in God’s presence. This was something Jesus did regularly.
Getting alone will help you remember that God alone is the sustainer of our soul.
Lamentations 3:28-30 MSG - “When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst.”
Matthew 14:23 The Message - 22-23 As soon as the meal was finished, he insisted that the disciples get in the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he dismissed the people. With the crowd dispersed, he climbed the mountain so he could be by himself and pray. He stayed there alone, late into the night.
Luke 5:16 The Passion Translation - 16 But Jesus often slipped away from them and went into the wilderness to pray.
