Description

The Mothers of Jesus || Ruth
In this sermon we look at Ruth's story (Ruth 1-4). Ruth was a widowed foreigner living in Bethlehem with her widowed mother-in-law. They were destitute and starving. She happened upon the field of a generous landowner who provided for both her and her mother-in-law. She ended up marrying him, finding both love and security for her and her family. Her story ends with the birth of a child--the grandfather of King David. But Ruth's line continues all the way to the birth of Jesus in the very town where she had lived. Jesus, the promised redeemer and King who would restore all that's been lost and broken.
