Have you ever watched kids on a playground? Complete strangers come together and start making mud pies within minutes. Why is that so hard for us to do as adults? Even when we’ve got reasons for connection, like kids, sports teams, jobs, and neighborhood activities, it’s still hard.
And that’s reflected in the latest statistics showing that loneliness is an epidemic.
So how do we fix that?
This Week’s Listener Question:
I just moved to Colorado because of my husband’s job. I’m feeling really lonely. How do adults make friends?
Small Group Questions:
1. Why do you think Americans are becoming more lonely and less connected to friends?
2. How easy or challenging has it been for you to make friends in adulthood?

4. In what ways can you lean into the anxiety of dating new friends?
5. Why do you think it’s worth feeling uncomfortable for a short time in order to find new connections that might last a long time?
