CoachAdam34 & The Extraordinary Me Program Podcast is honored to share Episode number 11 featuring the Extraordinary Sara Lynn.
Sara’s life changed dramatically after the rock-climbing accident in 2001, at the age of 16. Her teenage, and young adult years centered around therapy appointments, rehabilitation, and chronic pain. Her determination to fully recover and walk again required hours of effort daily.
She worked relentlessly to regain her lost skills. Sara also tried alternative therapeutic methods to complement physical therapy activities. She added massage, aqua stretch, yoga, chiropractic, structural integration, osteo-manipulation, plant ceremony meditation, cannabis, and CBD.
Within 2 years, Sara went from being paralyzed from the chest down to utilizing a wheelchair, to using two forearm crutches, then one, then two hiking sticks, then one just for balance. Sara did not let her physical disabilities stop her from living an active and fulfilling life. She married and was blessed with 4 children.
However, after a decade of marriage, they divorced. Then Sara put herself through school, to obtain her degree in Psychology. While finishing school she worked as a substitute teacher (specializing in the special education department), CTT, and started a modeling career at the age of 32. But mobility continued to be a problem, as many of the schools in which she worked were not well adapted to her needs. Large campuses and the need to change rooms quickly were obstacles that she needed to remove if she was to be successful. Sara and her brother quickly went to work on a solution. They developed a prototype for a new mobility device to aid Sara to go from room to room quickly and easily.
