Jonah 2:2
“ in my distress, I called to the Lord, and He answered me. From the deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and You listened to my cry.”
We may never have been in the belly of a fish for three days or three nights, and yet these words are words, I have cried out from the deep pain of my heart, while sitting up in my bed in the darkness. Those 3 AM sit up straight look up and cry up to God moments— those are the moments that Jonah is describing here.
And it is exactly then when our God shows up. He answers you. He has answered me. And then he has sat by my side, and he has listened to my cry. May this truth a deep and beautiful healing today, knowing that there is a God who hears the cry of your heart at any hour at any time of the day.
