I want to share with you some of the unfortunate pitfalls you may experience at home upon your retirement. This is for those of you who have not yet retired so you know what to look out for. You may not be the king of your castle or the family hero you think you will be. You may just be the new house monkey. My advice to you is to learn how to say “no” as soon as possible. A “honey-do” list is inevitable; just keep it to a minimum. My friends, retirement is a gift, a gift that you earned, one that you deserve. It’s your time now. Don’t ruin it by becoming someone’s house monkey even if it is your own family.
