Firefighters are just like anyone else. In fact, many firefighters do not eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and many are severely sleep deprived. The inability to fall asleep or get quality sleep contributes to the deadly heart conditions experienced by so many firefighters, and many start shifts with little or no sleep in the last 24 to 48 hours.
