SHAVUOT
Got to Kill Some Time?
We squander time, taking our next second, or day or year, for granted. But they are not granted. They are not at all guaranteed.
The secret of a live well lived lies in appreciating this. In truly harnessing each moment of time that we have, infusing each instant with value and meaning. Including – and especially – those pockets of “lost time” during carpool, at the grocery store line, in the doctor’s waiting room.
As we get ready for Shavuos, when we mark what is arguably the most important occasion for our people, there is a burning question about the whole event that begs for answers.
Who holds events in the wilderness? Who ‘squanders’ a grand event like the giving of the Torah in the desolate wilderness?
