CHAYEI SARAH
Simple Servant, Sacred Moments
We will look at some of the fundamental aspects of life, we are agents of G-d Almighty and have been called upon to fulfill an objective far greater than ourselves. This makes our existence, at once both larger than and transcending the natural order, while simultaneously pecking at the very limits of that order.
How does a nearly anonymous figure, turn out to be so cherished and hallowed? How does an obscure man, who doesn’t even go by his real name, get more time in the spotlight than even Moshe Rabeinu?! We know how frugal the Torah is with words, never beating around the bush or repeating things for poetic license; indeed, entire centuries of existence have been squeezed into one or two verses at times. Yet here, the Torah does not just tell over a seemingly inconsequential story of a servant, his journey, and his own thoughts, but even repeats the story, with nary a change!
