What Are we fighting Over?
For as long as anyone can remember the Land of Israel has been fought over, debated about and it has been at the center of so much conflict.
Everyone claims it as theirs and wants a piece of it.
But why?
What is so unique about this little sliver of soil?
We will assert that the world needs the Land of Israel as a palace for the divine presence, as the place where heaven touches earth. The Land of Israel is not only for our benefit but also for the benefit of the Almighty as it were. It is the only space in the world where holiness resides physically.
In addition to the physical defense of the land, which is critical and decisive always, we must also make this land worthy of its name. If we want the Land of Israel to preserve us, we must preserve it and its spiritual identity.
This way, we will merit seeing again all the endless miracles that took place here.
