This story was inspired by the CBS News article "New Bedford company's deep sea robots to explore darkest parts of oceans." Massachusetts-based Orpheus Ocean has developed legged robots that can land and walk on the seafloor at six thousand meters — exploring the last frontier on Earth. In the story, a deep-sea robot touches down in total darkness with nothing in view, walks for four hours, and finds life. Every beginning is empty — that's what makes it an exploration.
