It was more than puppy love. Pearl Hillary Tang Aqui, or Aunty Pearl as we call her, fell in love with Gerard Aqui when she was a teenager. He promised they’d get married when he came back from oversees. But she never heard from him. He seemed to have disappeared.
Decades later, they got married; a journey spanning three countries involving chance meetings, a heart attack, cancer and the realization that they could not live without each other.
