Brittney Crunk shared a tremendous amount of great information about her journey to help families have a baby to love by being their surrogate. She is very passionate about creating awareness around surrogacy. She said do not let Hollywood or other stories discourage you from considering using a surrogate to carry your child but do your research and to not push through things to quickly because you want a baby now. Do not skip steps in the process because it may not end the way you hoped.
I wanted to know the couple that I was carrying their child and to have a relationship with them. I wanted them to be able to come to every doctor's appointment and be there to watch their child being born. I did not want them to miss out on any aspect of the pregnancy because they are already losing a portion of the journey and I did not want them to lose anything else so I chose an agency that would allow that.
Advice from Brittney: RESEARCH multiple agencies to find the right one for your surrogacy journey. Find an attorney that is well versed in surrogacy and that the contract is airtight. DO NOT skip steps in the legal process. Make sure you check on the health insurance and talk with people that have been through the process and ask them questions.
