La-Anna is an amazing woman that has experienced a tremendous amount of pain with horrible periods starting at age 10. She was misdiagnosed for many years until finally being told that she had two uterus and two cervix, which is called didelphys uterus. And in addition to these diagnoses, she also had endometriosis and fibroids. She talked about the very deep depression she experienced after years of infertility struggles and a failed IVF. After 8 years of trying to become pregnant, La-Anna's husband said let's just enjoy each other and she felt a huge release. 1 year later she became pregnant naturally with her miracle little girl.
Didelphys Uterus is a very rare condition and La-Anna is dedicated to spreading awareness, finding others to support and to help with proper diagnosis. She is a writer, motivational speaker and women's advocate that is spreading awareness.
La-Anna's advice and encouragement: Do not give up on yourself no matter what stage in parenthood you are in. You are special and do not give up on who you are. I know it can be hard going through infertility treatments and to get the proper diagnosis. Find a doctor that will listen to you but be your own advocate. Do not be afraid to ask the right questions. Write down questions and ask to record what the doctor says.
Find support groups so you do not feel alone on your journey. Reach out and find women that are going through what you are going through. La-Anna said "I almost cried when I found a woman that had the same diagnosis.
