Description

Melanie and her husband Bob went through several years of enduring loss after loss after loss to now have their miracle daughter because of a family members selfless love to give them the greatest gift. Their daughter and surrogate have a unique bond and also share a birthday!

A year of miscarriages and D&C's.   A year of fertility drugs and IUI's .  Then IVF that also ended in a miscarriage.  They then found the strength to agree to some more genetic testing, but bad news followed.

The genetic testing showed that they had something called a DQ-Alpha total match. This meant that it would be almost impossible for Melanie to carry their biological child. There is less than 1% of couples that have this genetic condition.  After that devastating news they were told their options to have a family of their own would be to do an embryo adoption, a sperm donor, surrogacy, or adoption.  WOW how does a couple even process this kind of news.

They had been through quite the journey already, but their journey had just begun.   Choosing Surrogacy has so many hurdles that have to be achieved way before the fertility doctor can even begin to help the couple through the process of conception.  Psychological evaluations, hiring attorneys and understanding your insurance.

Can I breast feed my daughter that I did not carry?
