Description

Recorded on 5 May 2022 for ICMDA Webinars.

Dr Peter Saunders chairs a discussion with Dr Calum Miller.

The abortion debate is often seen as a dilemma between the wellbeing of the mother and the wellbeing of the child: for pro-lifers, the child's right to life outweighs the mother's right to choice.

In fact, the empirical evidence suggests that abortion has, on the whole, been detrimental not only to unborn lives but also to women generally.

In this webinar Dr Calum Miller explains how women are likewise harmed by abortion and why Christians can offer a better way.

Dr Calum Miller is a medical doctor based in the UK, and a research associate at the University of Oxford, researching abortion ethics and policy. He has spoken widely on national media, and across the world to professional groups and politicians on the harms of abortion and the need to protect both mother and child. He has taken part in numerous debates, including with the former CEO of the UK's leading private abortion provider. He has published on a wide range of topics in peer-reviewed journals and won prizes from the University of Oxford and the Royal College of Psychiatrists for his work on medical ethics.
