Description

Hi, everybody!

This is just a quick note about something new I’m doing this year, which I hope you enjoy.

Every time I posted little teaser videos in transcript format for Translation Confessional on social media, people would ask me how they could consume the podcast in written form. Well, these little teaser videos are only generated on Anchor FM for short audio clips, not for an entire podcast episode, so unfortunately there isn’t a way for listeners to access the audio podcast while following along with the transcript on the screen.

But then I found out about something that could help those of you who would like to not only listen to Translation Confessional but read it as well. Maybe my accent gets in the way sometimes and you miss a word here and there. Or maybe you’d like to take notes about some translation-related tip I’m sharing, but you don’t want to pause the podcast to write it down.

So, one thing that can help out and make the transcript available to you in a more pleasant way is… DRUMROLL…

KINDLE VELLA

It’s a new platform for Kindle users, whether you have a Kindle reader or use the Kindle app on your phone or tablet to read ebooks.

Once again, it’s called KINDLE VELLA, V-E-L-L-A, and it was only the first time I said it aloud that I realized that “vella” is short for “novella!”

On Kindle Vella, many authors have been posting individual chapters for their readers to enjoy stories in smaller chunks. I’ve seen some great sagas that would span multiple books in conventional ebook format, as well as individual essays that could make up a huge collection, but they become shorter book episodes on KINDLE VELLA that can be appreciated one by one, bit by bit.

So, I’ve joined Kindle Vella and will be posting a new Translation Confessional chapter every Monday and Friday, starting January 7, 2022. You’ll be able to read our past episodes one by one and, if you want to, you can listen to the respective audio or watch the video episode as you read the transcript that has been adapted for readers.

Well, I do hope you enjoy this new Translational Confessional format. I’m leaving a link to my Kindle Vella page in this episode’s description. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know how you’re enjoying the podcast content in this new kind of package.
