The acquisition of small businesses owned by language professionals is a trend that has been growing in recent years. Language professionals such as translators, interpreters, subtitlers, and language consultants are often the sole providers of services related to language knowledge, and as such, their businesses are highly specialized and unique. But, what happens then for a language talent who sells their small business? Would they become an employee of their former company after such an acquisition? Could they retire comfortably?
