Description

Lifepointe Summer Intern Garrett Kaiser brings the word in the final traditional service before our Summer Games event all July.

Garrett brings a strong word breaking down some of Jesus’ final words on the cross, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” This reference to Psalm 22:1 contains a beautiful model for how we can have brutal honesty, tough questions and an open rawness in our prayers and conversations with God. Jesus, while on the cross, screams for his Father to come back despite understanding scripture and knowing that his death had to happen. Despite having the head knowledge, Jesus still felt the need to question his circumstance. This lament proves that is okay, in fact, encouraged to be honest about our anger, frustration and feelings. God hears. He listens.
