Description

As we end the month and the "Fresh Start" series, Pastor Josh tells the story of Josiah, the young kid found in 2 Kings. Josiah changed the entire culture for the time he was alive through the brave action to turn back to the Lord after decades of defiling the covenant.

Josiah exhibited humility when he found the Law that was preserved. He didn't disregard it or run from it, but tore his clothes and repented. Humility is the key in experiencing spiritual renewal for us today! The major response of Josiah was to clear out the temple. To restore it back to its rightful place as only the home of Yahweh. He takes the false gods, their followers, their relics...everything, and burns it outside of the temple. If our bodies and minds are the temples we watch over, then we must also make sure we clear it from time to time and place God where He belongs in our lives. The final take away from the message is that young people should never allow themselves to be underestimated. This repentance and turn back to the Lord began with a king who was 8 when he took reign, 16 when he began following God and 26 at the time of this story. Young people can and will make the difference. They will and are leaders. What a perfect encouragement to close out the discussion over the last few weeks!
