In the first youth service of 2020, Pastor Josh begins a series on fresh starts, new beginnings and radical changes. Opening "Fresh Start" is an in-depth look at Paul and his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
Like Paul, our response to the calling of Jesus should first be a recognizing of our sin. Without this as our foundation, there is no need to grow closer with God and follow His prompting. We are also to dig deep into prayer, making it the center of everything we do so that we can recognize God's voice and believe Him for whatever we need, whether it be a miracle, healing or provision. Finally, an obedient response to the calling of the Lord is key in unlocking all He has for us. Without Paul stepping into his calling, two-thirds of the New Testament wouldn't have been recorded. What a blow that would have been! We, too, have an enormous role in furthering the Kingdom and the account of Paul in Acts encourages us to do as he did.
