Description

Pastor Josh continues the "In the Beginning" series from the Bible Engagement Project, taking a look at Genesis and the beginning of the Bible. We highlight the story of Noah and the flood that reset life on earth.

How could the world be so corrupt in only 3 chapter from when sin entered the world that God would be disgusted that He wanted to destroy everything and start over? We see that people had been corrupt with their money, their morals and their relationships with others. God and sin cannot co-exist meaning that a just God has to judge a sinful creation. We see His love in the patience that He showed, but He had to step in. Before He did, He made preparations for Noah and his family to be saved. It was Noah's faithfulness and obedience to the Lord that saved him. God rewards obedience. Noah had nothing other than God's Word but still remained obedient. That's the faith that we should always strive for in our lives! In Genesis 8 when the dust had settled and the water dried up, God gave Noah the same command that He gave Adam and Eve at the beginning of Genesis. God redeemed Noah and his family because of their faithfulness. This narrative is perfect imagery for Jesus, who serves as the ark, we can all be "on board" with.
