Pastor Josh continues the story of the Exodus as the Israelites find themselves in the wilderness in Exodus 16.
The interesting thing about the story of Israel in the wilderness is how quickly they forgot what God did for them. Instead of remembering what He had done and using that to sustain them through the troubles, they grumbled against God. In response, He provided but also challenged them to follow and trust Him, even when it didn’t make sense to. We know from their grumblings that they were not able to see God’s hand in their lives! How similar is that to our lives today? We constantly find ourselves missing out on what God is doing because of our attitudes! Our attitudes are important. We know God’s intentions were to provide for His people. Despite their grumbling and their poor attitude, He was still faithful to fulfill the plans He had for them. Yahweh is a God who wants to provide for His people! As the Israelites looked for food on the Sabbath but found none because of the Lord’s instructions to take double on the day before and cook it in the morning, we know that trust and obedience are the keys to remain aware of what God is doing!
