As we have concluded our S.o.S series, Pastor Josh takes some time to address the elephant in the room. This one-off discussion about Jesus working in the timing of the Father in the miracle of Lazarus is especially timely for us today, battling the current state of our world.
The book of John recounts several of Jesus' miracles and His amazing works on earth, proving His deity. The account found in chapter 11 speaks of Jesus' greatest yet...the raising of the dead. Lazarus was one of Jesus' closest friends. Yet, when he became sick, Jesus waited several more days to visit him. This bizarre timing actually was intentionally done so the work of Christ could be magnified and build the faith of those around Him. We see that God works in His timing so that He can receive the most glory possible! When Jesus sees the faith in Martha, He acts and raises her brother up, calling him out of the tombs. Jesus is also intentional here, but in a different way. He waits for faith to be shown to move. This should encourage us that our faith matters! We can be the agent of change in moving God's hand to action. In this time, we must be prepared to pray and seek God out to restore, rebuild and revive our situations.
