Pastor Josh kicks off a new series entitled “There is More”, where servant-leadership is the focus. In this first edition, PJ speaks on the importance of having the right posture.
In examining the events following the last supper in Luke 22, we see that the disciples were bickering about who the greatest in the Kingdom of God would be. Jesus clearly states that the greatest would actually be the servant of all. The worldly systems of abuse of leadership was not what Jesus modeled and one that He warned His disciples about. This interactions teaches us that leadership is not something that comes out of gaining a position, title or rank. How we serve is how effective we can lead. We also know that the lower we put ourselves in service, the higher God will raise us up. We know from scripture that humility will garner influence and the ability to speak into people’s lives. Scripture makes it known that if we are to call ourselves Christians, we must be willing to serve others because no one is exempt! If we want to be able to increase our witness and draw closer to God, we must make ourselves available to serve.
