Pastor Josh brings another message regarding the state of our society. There is importance in reading God's Word and gaining direction and insight for how to interact with the world.
As events continue to escalate around the nation, it is easy to be discouraged and lose hope. In Habakkuk, after Judah is in captivity at the hand of the Babylonians, he examines the situation and the obvious oppression and injustice. This causes Habakkuk to question what and why it is happening? Why God is allowing it and siding with the doers of wrong? There is an anger, frustration and a rawness that he brings before God. As he explains the situation and his desire to see justice for the oppressed, he finds that he might not understand the situation the way he thinks. God responds in a clear authoritative way, by allowing Habakkuk to know His heart. He explains to the prophet that final justice will be His. Despite the oppression and injustice, God is above it and will repay it. This brings Habakkuk to worship and praise God at the end of this short book and find peace in chaos. In the same manner, we must trust that God will repay the injustice and oppression and right the wrongs of so many. God will restore peace when Jesus returns and restore the chaotic state of our world. Habakkuk's interaction with the Lord is a timely one and a model for how we can speak with God when we feel helpless to continue the fight.
