Words have fun origins. The usage and meaning of words can change to reflect new social behaviour, new technology, and new economic contexts. Every year we find at least one new word added to our dictionaries. Some words change meaning over time, while others are completely new.
Only four months in 2020 and we already have a Top 10 list of words we're using differently, as well as new or coined words that have made their ways into our daily vernacular. There is usually something "new" that generates a new word or a new usage of an existing word. That something in 2020 is a virus. And our dictionaries are going to be updated to reflect these additions to our terminology.
