Description

For today's episode, There is one word that defines the difference between those who achieve their goals and those who don’t.  That one word is commitment.  Commitment is what separates the does from the dreamers.

What you will hear in this episode

You must have commitment to achieve anything worthwhile in this life.

Lots of people want to be involved but few people want to truly be involved.  The difference is whether you are all in or just a contributor.

Being committed to your results more than to your reasons positions you to push forward in the face of any challenge.  It is getting back up when you get knocked down, and always getting up one more time than you are knocked down.  It is pushing yourself mentally beyond the point when your body is telling you that it is time to quit.

Commitment is recommitment and is is something we must do every single day.

When we are fully committed, before you even begin the process, in your mind and in your reality… IT IS DONE!

  1. Commitment is a simple decision that precedes the achievement.  When you decide before the fear sets in, you simply act without thinking through the process.  No matter what you are choosing to do, you have to commit before the process begins and learn to shut off the bullshit in your head that tells you that it is too hard.
  2. Commitment is always tested by action.  It is the doing that separates the haves from the have nots.  Either you choose to do what is required or you choose not to.  It is your choice and your choice alone.  In your pursuit, there must be self-care to ensure you still have what it takes to do what is required.  You cannot give what you do not have.  It isn’t just about doing and feeling.  It is the blending of the being and the doing that keep us moving in the right direction.  Learn to be and act in a way that is consistent with the life you desire.
  3. How to improve your commitment…
    1. Measure that which you desire to achieve.  What gets measured, gets managed.  You must measure the efforts, money, and time you spend on the things you do and determine whether the investment is giving you a return on investment.
    2. Journal out the cascading positive consequences of creating the life you desire.  This gives you the energy and focus to keep going because you can see and feel what life will be like when you achieve your goal.

This is not about being lucky.  It is about stopping the reasons from killing your commitment and it is a full commitment to live the life you desire.

Is today the day to commit to the vision you have for your life?  This is a decision from a place of power, not force.
