In 2014 I opened my first restaurant. I had the passion, I knew what I wanted the menu to look like, and I was driven enough to get everything together and get it launched within three months within taking over the lease.
It was the first sit down, full service, paleo & gluten-free restaurant in Colorado. People loved it. Daily Camera published a two-page article, titled ‘It’s Hard to Beat Blooming Beets’. Within a month we got glowing reviews in the newspaper and we were SLAMMED! We turned profits within three months.
Things looked great on the outside, but within a year I was desperately emailing restaurant brokers and begging them to help me get out of the business.
I was in no way equipped spiritually, emotionally, and from a mindset standpoint on how to handle being a CEO of my business...
