I met Brian in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2002. He was my zone leader during my service there as a Mormon missionary. But he was probably one of the only missionary leaders that I not only liked instantly but also felt like he genuinely liked me and wanted to be a part of my mission experience in the most positive way possible. In the 15+ years since coming home, I’ve thought back on my time with Brian many times with a smile and told stories of the fun we had and the hijinks that he got into that I had only heard about. I’ve wanted to sit down with him and hear him tell his story for a while and I’m so happy we finally made it happen.
