Michael Zimmerlich wanted to be an entrepreneur since senior year of high school when he sold ‘video yearbooks’ on DVD to his fellow classmates. After creating an internet radio station in college with friend Zach Nation, Nation suggested they start a record label. 80/20 Records is an independent record label and management company which they founded in 2012. In this week’s episode, I had the privilege of chatting with Michael about the local music scene, the many and various definitions of artistic success, and what he has learned from more than a decade of helping Arizona musicians achieve their dreams.
