Look at the strategy the chief priests and scribes used to try to catch Jesus. What would have happened if he answered God OR Caesar, but not the other?
Identify the authority that government has in your life. What are the practical things that you do everyday because of government?
Compare and contrast the authority of God with the authority of government. Who gives who authority?
Use this opportunity to articulate how you believe a faithful follower of Christ should relate to government and the public square. Should we avoid it? Fight it? Another way? Discuss this with your family or friends and look to other scriptural examples of faithful followers.
