After years of thoughtful analysis, I’d say the majority of us are playing a reactionary game. Essentially playing defense. And coming from a former quarterback, I hate defense.
What you all have to understand is that your email inbox is a to-do list to which anyone in the world can add an action item. You need to get out of your inbox and back to your own to-do list. You need to sprint. You need to go On Offense.
Ask yourself this…Do I lead with an offensive or defensive mindset? Do I value speed in my organization? I encourage you to consider all of the alternatives to your current mode of leadership. You just find that you like how it feels to dictate the pace of performance.
