Description

Do kids today know how to address a letter, or know where to put a stamp? Could a kid today sew on a button? These are some of the "40 Old-Fashioned Skills That Kids Need to Know". The list came from...well, I don't really remember. There are surely lists like this all over the internet. Some of the suggestions could be deemed as "old-fashioned" yet essential. Such things as how to hammer a nail, how to apologize, how to change a tire, how to clean a bathroom/kitchen, how to use a fire extinguisher, or how to budget. Most of us have learned the basic lessons of how to wash dishes, read a map, or iron a shirt. Some people hire out jobs such as vacuuming, cleaning clothes, or gardening. What if kids could do some of these things on their own?
