Your community needs you. Not every job is paid. There are many tasks around your neighborhood, community, state, and country that rely on volunteers. When you volunteer, you are giving your time and skills to help others. For teens, there are groups such as Key Club and Best Buddies programs through the local schools. There are large groups like Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. There are small and local groups like a local food pantry or parks department who also look for volunteers. Whatever your interest, there is likely a volunteer opportunity. For teens being a volunteer can be added to a job or college application. If there is potential career of interest, try being a volunteer first and see if it really is something of interest. There are many sites to find opportunities. Here are a couple www.dosomething.org and www.teenlife.com/category/volunteer/.
