Wiz RECOMMENDS Dune: Part Two

Dune: Part Two shares a lot of the same strengths and issues with Dune: Part One.

Both parts have excellent visuals, music and sound design throughout the film.

Both have excellent performances: Part One's stalwarts Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson are just as good in Part Two, but also have a good performance by Zendaya and an excellent performance by Austin Butler.

But the issues remain the same: both plot and characters don't seem very deep, save for Paul And Lady Jessica. One of the key parts of the movie that needed depth, the romance between Chani and Paul, seem to just happen very quickly, leaving the romance feel pretty empty.

But even after six hours of story, the totality of the Dune films still feel unsatisfying. Part of is is because, like Part One, the story isn't finished. The other is simply that Paul is a good character, but just not a captivating one.

And yet, I do want more Dune, which is why I'm interested in the Dune: Prophecy MAX series coming in November. But it isn't a lock tight interest in the overarching plot like some other film series: it's more of a "this is good, so why not?" kind of feeling.
