With everything that has been going on in the world about racism and injustice, I wanted to make a podcast episode about loving others like Jesus wants us to love others. Although many of us having been posting on social media, petitioning, donating, protesting, etc., how often are we making an effort to love others in our daily lives even when it's hard? Although it's amazing that we want to fight injustice so badly, it all starts with showing selfless love in the simple things each day.
Here’s the thing: Your love can help lead others to God’s love. If we can’t love one another in our day to day life, think about how many opportunities we’re missing out on where we could be demonstrating the Gospel to others. In today’s world, it is so hard for people to believe in God. Truth is relative, there is no definition of right and wrong anymore. The world is getting more secular and progressive each day, and many say that it’s stupid and illogical to believe in a higher power. As the world gets further and further away from believing in a higher power, we as Christians have to work harder to help people come to know Jesus.
Now, it’s not enough to tell people about Jesus and explain how amazing He is and how much he will bless people’s lives, you know what you gotta do? You have to show them, don’t just tell them, show them. Back up the love of the Gospel with your actions of love. This is what unconditional, selfless love looks like: giving up time and showing forgiveness and patience to others.
In this episode, I share different ways I want to start actively pursuing selfless love in my daily life, and I wanted to share my journey with you.
Thank you so much for listening to today's episode. :)
