In today's episode, I talk all about having Jesus in your boat! When the storms of life hit us by surprise, we have to remember that Jesus is not surprised. He knows how to handle the situation, and He will give you this wisdom to handle it. Jesus will also give you comfort and strength as you try to get through the waves of life. I was inspired to talk about this topic after going to a sermon at Gateway Church in Scottsdale where the pastor talked all about how to overcome fear. The Biblical story he referenced was from Matthew 8, sharing how the disciples were in the boat with Jesus when a storm hit. Although the disciples were freaking out and overreacting, Jesus calmed the disciples fears by calming the waters. Jesus was fully calm because He knew that He could settle the storm. We should approach storms by trusting in Jesus' abilities to help us.
In this episode, I share the main ideas that really stuck out to me from this sermon. As a summary, here are the four truths that really spoke to me, and I hope they speak to you, as well:
#1: Satan's goal of fear is to distract you from running the race for God.
#2: Once you're saved, Jesus is in the boat no matter the storm.
#3: Storms can change the direction in your life. God can either put storms in your life to open up your eyes. Or, Satan caused the storm, but God turned it around for good.
#4: Focus on who is with you in the storm instead of focusing on what is thrown at you.
Even though it's easy to let fear grip our attention, we must remember that nothing is a surprise to God. He is in control. Even when we don't know what's coming next, we can have full confidence that God will take care of us because He loves us and wants to protect His children.
God bless you all.
