Description

Dr Ioannis Tsipouridis (PhD, University of Leeds), a chemical engineer in renewables since 1978 and I discuss his wind energy journey from Greece to Kenya through his roles as:

• C.E.O. of P.P.C. Renewables (100% subsidiary of P.P.C.) from 2010 to 2013,
• president of the board of directors of the Hellenic Wind Energy Association (2013- 2017),
• the owner and General Manager of REDPro Consultants - Renewable Energy Development Professionals (Greece) since 2014, since 2018 in Kenya as the Director of the Renewable Energy & Climate Change Research Center at the Technical University of Mombasa (RECCReC), where he is also a visiting professor.

and in the Direction of Renewable Energy Sources (Public Power Corporation of Greece (P.P.C.)), through developing wind and photovoltaic parks in the Aegean and Crete in the ’80s and ’90s.

Ioannis is also the Chairman of the nonprofit entity Africa For Renewables In Climate Action, whose acronym is A.F.R.I.C.A. among his many social and scientific activities.
