What’s up! Welcome back to my podcast “こんなときのにほんご”.
Hi! I'm Megumi! It’s great to have you tuning in!
It’s the 217th time. Let’s get started!
That's all for today.
Thanks for joining me today, and I'll see you next week.
Until then, おつかれさまでした! Bye!

What’s up! Welcome back to my podcast “こんなときのにほんご”.
Hi! I'm Megumi! It’s great to have you tuning in!
It’s the 217th time. Let’s get started!
But before I start, I'd like to say a few words.
From this time, I'm going to start speaking only in Japanese! The reason is that no matter how hard I try, I can't pronounce it like a native English speaker now, so I thought it would be hard to hear if I kept talking like this. I'll put English in the caption, so if you're interested, you can listen while watching!
So here is this quiz.
What is the opposite of “private opinions”?
The correct answer is “HONNE”.
In Japanese, there is a common saying: Honne To Tatemae. “Honne” refers to words that are said from the heart.
I speak my true feelings, “Honne wo haku” or “Honne ga deru”. In Japanese, it is often said that “honne to tatemae’ means ‘to speak one's true mind’.
Use your true feelings and tatemae to communicate well.
That's all for today.
Thanks for joining me today, and I'll see you next week.
Until then, おつかれさまでした! Bye!
